2025 Call for Director Nominations

Basketball Northern Territory (BNT) invites nominations for the position of Elected Director on the BNT Board in accordance with Clause 14 of the BNT Constitution.

Under Clause 13.1(a), the Board of BNT comprises four (4) Elected Directors and two(2) Appointed Directors. In line with Clause 14.3(b), two Elected Directors retire each year on a rotational basis, creating an opportunity for new leadership.

Eligibility and Constitutional Requirements:
Nominations for Elected Director must comply with the following:
- Clause 14.1(a): Nominations must be called at least 28 days prior to theAnnual General Meeting (AGM).
- Clause 14.1(b): Nominees must disclose any roles held within a MemberAssociation, including positions as a director, officer, or employee.
- Clause 14.1(c): A nominee must not be a Board Member of a Member Association.
- Clause 14.3(a): Elected Directors serve a two-year term commencing at theconclusion of the AGM at which they are elected.
- Clause 14.1(d): Nominations must be:

·      In writing,

·      On the prescribed nomination form (see enclosed),

·      Signed by the nominee indicating willingness to accept the position, and

·      Submitted no later than 14 days prior to the AGM, that is by 16 May 2025.

Late or incomplete nominations will not be accepted.

Should the number of nominations equal or be fewer than the available vacancies, nomineeswill be declared elected in accordance with Clause 14.2(a). If more nominations are received than positions available, an election will be conducted at the AGMas per Clause 14.2(c).
